Ronoh Wins Again at Wilmington Fall Classic for Women's Cross Country

WILMINGTON, Ohio -- For the fourth straight race this season, Lindsey Wilson College's Sharon Ronoh took home an individual title, winning the 5,000-meter Wilmington College Fall Cross Country Classic on Friday by nearly 30 seconds in front of the nearest competitor.

With Ronoh's top finish coming in 18 minutes and 4.22 seconds, the Blue Raider women finished in 12th place overall in the 26-team field, while the Lindsey Wilson men's program entered three individuals into the men's 8K.

The Blue Raider women's next finisher was senior Alicia Mattingly in 65th place with a time of 20:41.94, followed by sophomore Maria Sanchez in 106th place in 21:33.15.

In 131st place, sophomore Madison Mills finished in 22:03.38, while newcomer Katarina Gimborys crossed in 22:30.31 to take 149th place. In 164th place, sophomore Amanda Bland crossed the finish in 22:46.53 and sophomore Reini Brickson took 170th place in 23:02.04.

Freshman Kate Davis finished in the top 200 as well with a 184th-place finish in 23:36.89 to round out the Lindsey Wilson finishers.

As a team the Blue Raider women collected 397 team points to take 12th place, while Ohio State University finished first with 83 points, the University of Findlay (Ohio) finished second with 105 points and Wilmington (Ohio) College made it into the top three with 115 points.

On the men's side, Lindsey Wilson's three finishers included freshman Ben Graham leading the way in 250th place with a time of 31:19.30, followed by his classmate J.R. Northcutt in 253rd place in 31:46.13 and sophomore Kameron Spivey in 262nd place with a time of 32:37.19.

Lindsey Wilson returns to running at 10 a.m. CT on Oct. 22 at the Southeastern Classic in Rome, Ga.
