Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Monny Niamke finished with 18 points, 10 assists and five steals and Jasmine Brimm tallied a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds to help the 14th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team rout Tennessee Temple University 86-54 on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center.
It didn't always look like a lopsided win for the Blue Raiders as the Crusaders were down just 10 (39-29) at halftime and had led by as many as four points with six minutes left in the half.
It wasn't until Lindsey Wilson shot off on a 12-2 run to start the second half that it looked like a rout was underway. From that point the Blue Raiders went on to outscore Tennessee Temple 47-25 in the half and lead the game by as many as 32 points down the stretch.
Lindsey Wilson shot lights out in the later stages of the game, finishing the second half at 54.3 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from the 3-point line to finish at 46.1 percent from the field for the game.
After shooting 43.5 percent from the field in the first half, the Crusaders broke down the rest of the way, finishing at 39.6 percent and 25.0 percent from behind the arc.
One bright spot for the Crusaders was free-throw shooting as they hit 14-of-20 shots, compared to 11-of-18 for the Blue Raiders.
Briana Reeves paced Tennessee Temple with 16 points, while Jessica Salera and Laquinta Gallishaw each added 10. Reeves also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
Junior Sarah Gillis added nine points for Lindsey Wilson and junior Stacia Jo Hill tallied eight, while senior Taylor Lockridge dished out five assists off the bench.
Tennessee Temple struggled against the Blue Raiders' press in the second half, finishing with 26 turnovers and just six assists in the game. Lindsey Wilson shared the ball for 19 assists and committed just eight turnovers, while leading the battle on the glass 41-37.
Lindsey Wilson is back on the court at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 11 against Wilberforce (Ohio) University in Biggers Sports Center.
