Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 4 Campbellsville (Ky.) University shot lights out and Tiger senior Whitney Ballinger hit a season-high three 3-pointers to top the 12th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team 86-58 on Monday at Biggers Sports Center.
The Tigers shot 59.0 percent from the field and 45.0 percent from behind the arc with 24 points and 13 rebounds from Ballinger. Mackenzie Lee added 14 points and Courtney Clifton scored 12 for the Tigers.
While Lindsey Wilson struggled to get back into the game after falling behind early, it did get a strong individual performance from senior Diondra Anthony who finished with 21 points and five assists.
Sophomore Ashley Rainey and senior Viktoria Krell each added 16 points for the Blue Raiders and finished off double-doubles with 12 and 10 rebounds, respectively.
Campbellsville jumped out to a 13-point lead just over five minutes into the game and despite a quick run to bring it to seven points, Lindsey Wilson never recovered and trailed 48-26 at halftime.
The second half got no better as Campbellsville pushed ahead by its largest margin of 35 on a three by Lee with nearly 10 minutes left in the game.
Lindsey Wilson struggled at the free-throw line, hitting just 7-of-17 attempts and knocked down just 10.0 percent of its threes (1-for-10). It did manage to finish the game with a respectable 41.0 percent mark from the field.
The Blue Raiders return to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday at the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) in Williamsburg, Ky.
