Men's Tennis Wins 6-3 at IU-Southeast

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team continued its hot play with a 6-3 win over host Indiana University-Southeast on Tuesday.

The Blue Raiders improve to 8-5 overall with their sixth straight win. IU-Southeast falls to 8-6 on the season.

Lindsey Wilson grabbed a 2-1 lead following doubles play as to tandem of Andrews Moraes and Andre Santos and the duo of Fabricio Morales and Victor Saez each extended their doubles winning streak.

Moraes and Santos beat IU-Southeast's Matt Coomer and Breyden Everitt 8-3 in the top doubles match to win their seventh straight match. The Blue Raider pair improves to 11-2 this season.

Morales and Saez won 8-1 over IU-Southeast's Adam Benny and Kevin Sacksteder to win their sixth straight. Morales and Saez improves to 10-1 on the season in doubles play.

The lone Grenadier doubles point came at No. 3 doubles as Jimmy Nungester and Tyler Jackson beat Lindsey Wilson's Joe Cox and Clinton Berry 8-2.

In singles play, Lindsey Wilson's top four seeds dominated play dropping a combined eight games as each player won in straight sets.

Morales improved to 9-2 this season with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Coomer in the top singles match. Moraes and Saez won their singles matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores over Denny and Sacksteder respectively.

Santos improved to a team-best 12-1 this season with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Everitt in No. 4 singles.

Cox and Berry each suffered singles losses in the Blue Raiders' 6-3 win.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, as the Blue Raiders host Campbellsville (Ky.) University in a Mid-South Conference match at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
