Box Score MCKENZIE, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team improved to an even 5-5 on the season with a 6-3 win at Bethel (Tenn.) University on Tuesday.
The Blue Raider posted wins in the top four singles' matches and at the top two doubles' spots to drop Bethel to 4-9 on the season.
Lindsey Wilson opened up a 2-1 lead in the match after doubles' play. Seniors Andrews Moraes and Andre Santos topped Ryan Weatherly and Kristian Takac 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, while freshman Fabricio Morales and sophomore Victor Saez beat Eduardo Espinar and Paolo Vecchi 8-3 at No. 2.
The only Blue Raider doubles' loss came at the No. 3 match with freshmen Joe Cox and Clinton Berry falling 8-4 to Raphael Souza and Jaoa Sauza.
Morales continued with another win at the top singles' spot, winning the first set 6-0, and then holding on for a 7-5 win in the second set to beat Sauza. Moraes was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 2 against Vecchi, while Saez beat Espinar 6-3. 6-1 at No. 3.
Santos finished off the wins for the Blue Raiders with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles against Takac.
Cox lost his No. 5 singles' match 6-1, 6-0 against Weatherly, while Berry retired in the first set after falling behind 5-1 to Souza.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday against Tennessee Wesleyan University at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
