Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team extended its winning streak to a season-high four matches on Thursday at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders (6-5) moved to above .500 for the first time this season with a 6-3 win over visiting Tennessee Wesleyan College.
Lindsey Wilson grabbed a 2-1 lead following doubles play as the Blue Raiders' top two seeds won for the eighth and ninth times this season.
The top-seeded tandem of Andrews Moraes and Andre Santos moved to 9-2 this season -- including their fifth straight win -- with an 8-5 win over Tennessee Wesleyan's top doubles team of Juan Estevez and Tanner Stancil.
Lindsey Wilson's Victor Saez and Fabricio Morales improved to 8-1 this season with an 8-4 win over Giovanni Santos and David Escobosa at No. 2 doubles. The Blue Raiders duo of Clinton Berry and Joe Cox lost 0-8 to Nick Fynn and Eric Chastain in the final doubles match.
Lindsey Wilson claimed the win with wins in each of the top four seeds to earn the 6-3 win.
Morales, Moraes and Saez each won in straight sets, while Santos needed an extra pro-set to claim victory over Fynn.
After winning the opening set 8-6 in a tiebreak and dropping the second set 3-7 in a tiebreak, Santos won the pro-set 10-5 to improve to a team-best 10-1 this season in singles play.
Lindsey Wilson is scheduled to return to action at 2:30 p.m. CT on Friday, April 8, as the Blue Raiders host Brescia (Ky.) University at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
