COLUMBIA, Ky. -- While Campbellsville (Ky.) and St. Catharine (Ky.) didn't bring many swimmers, Lindsey Wilson College still found a way to generate its own momentum as it posted three NAIA "A" cut standards and six season-best times on Wednesday at the Holloway Health & Wellness Center Natatorium.
It was a quick meet with just 20 events as the Tigers swam just two women's student-athletes and St. Catharine competed with four swimmers.
The Blue Raider women topped the Patriots 71-1 and Campbellsville 59-22, while the Lindsey Wilson men beat St. Catharine 143-24.
Logan Wetzel led the way for the men with a pair of first-place finishes that included a season best in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.66) and national "A" cut in the 400-individual medley (4:21.31).
Connor Lyle was part of two "A" cuts, winning the 500-free with a time of four minutes and 53.19 seconds, while the 200-free relay team of Lyle, Corey Hall, Luke Royal and Will Alvey touched in 1:33.37.
Johnathan Hindman also performed well for Lindsey Wilson, tallying a time of 2:16.39 in the 200-breaststroke, which was a season-best performance.
During Wetzel's win in the 400-IM, Alvey also swam well, posting a season-best time of 4:38.23.
On the women's side, Mikayla Lyman swam a season-best 31.15 seconds in the 50-free and Deah Reese won the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:42.00, which was also a season best.
Kate Spaulding swam her best time of the season in the 400-IM, touching in 5:22.28.
The meet was the final home race of the season for the Blue Raiders which return to action at 5 p.m. CT on Feb. 3 against Centre (Ky.) College and Asbury (Ky.) College in Danville, Ky., on Centre's campus.
