COLUMBIA, Ky. – After just one home meet, the Lindsey Wilson College women's swimming team has two relays qualified for the NAIA Championships and four individual "B" cuts after a 127-112 win over NCAA Div. II King (Tenn.) College in the season opener at the Holloway Health and Wellness Center Natatorium.
Relays qualified for nationals include the 200-yard medley relay group of Lena Nikolaeva, Kate Spaulding, Callie Anderson and Susan Harrington which finished second with a time of one minute and 59.58 seconds.
Also qualifying were Stephanie Davis, Kelsey Marshall, Sarah Wood and Anderson in the 200-freestyle relay with a second-place showing of 1:51.08.
Two of the national "B" cuts came from Nikolaeva, the first in the 100-backstroke with a winning time of 1:02.71 and the other in the 200-back with a time of 2:17.56, which was also good for first place.
Spaulding picked up another "B" cut in the 100-breaststroke with a first-place time of 1:12.66, while also winning the 200-breast in 2:40.59.
Other notables for Lindsey Wilson include Anderson with first place in the 200-butterfly for a "B" cut in 2:23.35. Wood earned a pair of wins in the 200-free (2:10.54) and 500-free (5:55.03), while Nikolaeva registered the final win in the 200-individual medley with a time of 2:21.82.
The Blue Raiders return to the water at 2 p.m. CT on Oct. 13 at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
