Joslyn Shines as Women's Golf Finishes Second at Chick-fil-A Invitational

ROME, Ga. – Kelsey Joslyn finished second overall with a two-round total of 150 (76-74) to help the Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team finish second at the Chick-fil-A Invitational, hosted by Berry (Ga.) College on Tuesday at the Coosa Golf Club.

The Blue Raiders shot a 625 (319-306) as a team, improving 13 strokes on its day-one total, but it wasn't enough to top Cumberlands (Ky.), which also improved for a 618 (313-305). Shorter (Ga.) rounded out the top three with a 312 (320-308).

Cumberlands got a big boost from individual champion Liz Stephens, as she shot a 145 (75-70) to beat Joslyn by five strokes. Finishing behind Joslyn were Jennifer MacKinnon and Candace Stacy who tied for 10th place with identical 157's on their scorecards.

MacKinnon fired round totals of 77 and 80 to get there, while Stacy went 82 and 75 to improve by seven strokes on day two and make her jump up the leader board.

The Blue Raiders struggled to find a low fourth score as Sara Koizumi had the next best score in the clubhouse with a 161 (84-77). Amy Brown was fifth on the team with a 171 (86-85) to finish tied for 47th place individually.

Joslyn's 74 on day two was the best round for a Lindsey Wilson golfer over the two days with Stacy's day-two 75 next on the list. Stephens' from the Cumberlands had the low round in the field with her day-two 70.

Lindsey Wilson plays its next event on Oct. 15-16 at the St. Catharine Fall Tournament in Bardstown, Ky., at the Maywood Country Club.
