Brimm's Career-High Lifts Women's Basketball to 76-63 win over Pikeville

Box Score

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College junior Jasmine Brimm scored a career-high 35 points to lead the Blue Raiders to a 76-63 win over visiting University of Pikeville today at Biggers Sports Center.

Ashley Rainey added a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds to help the No.17-ranked Blue Raiders improve to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference. Pikeville falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in conference play.

The Blue Raiders never trailed in the game and led by as many as 18 points late in the second half.

However, the win was far from easy.

Pikeville battled close with the Blue Raiders throughout the first 20 minutes and during the early stages of the second half.

Whitney Jackson and Callisha Johnson led the Bears to within six points with 14:30 left in the game. Jackson finished with a team-high 18 points while Johnson scored 16 points off the bench.

That would be as close as the Bears would get.

Lindsey Wilson scored the next seven points and 13 of the next 17 to increase its lead to 55-40 with 8:26 left in the game.

The Bears managed to close within nine points twice but the Blue Raiders responded each time en route to the 13-point win.

In addition to her 35 points, Brimm added seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in the win.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Nov. 20 as the Blue Raiders travel to Campbellsville (Ky.) University.
