Box Score ST. CATHARINE, Ky. – Jasmine Brimm led all scorers with 24 points, but the 17th-ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team couldn't overcome a 12-point halftime deficit, losing 73-69 at St. Catharine (Ky.) on Saturday afternoon.
Brimm was joined by three other Blue Raiders in double figures, led by Ashley Rainey with 17 points, Kasey Litzinger with 12 and Sarah Beth Gillis with 10. Rainey led the team on the glass with 11 rebounds, while Litzinger knocked down four 3-pointers.
The Patriots were led by Reilly Poirier with 18 points and Janae Howarc chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds.
Lindsey Wilson didn't help itself from the field, shooting 35.8 percent, including a 29.6 percent mark from behind the arc. After hitting just 11 shots from the field in the first half, Lindsey Wilson trailed 43-31 at the half.
The second half went in the Blue Raiders' favor 38-30, but it wasn't enough to win a game they trailed by as many as 17 points late in the first half.
St. Catharine was better from the field at 44.6 percent, but it's free-throw shooting was most impressive, hitting 16-of-18 from the stripe. Lindsey Wilson outrebounded the Patriots 40-30.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday, hosting Berea (Ky.) at Biggers Sports Center.
