Women's Basketball Tops Webber Int'l 70-57 with Second-Half Surge

Box Score

BABSON PARK, Fla. – After trailing by one at halftime, the Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team went on to outscore Webber International (Fla.) 49-35 in the second half to win 70-57 on Tuesday.

Kasey Litzinger, who had never hit more than four 3-pointers in a game, led Lindsey Wilson with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting from behind the arc. Jasmine Brimm and Sarah Collins joined her in double figures with 14 points each.

After 21 straight games with a double-double, Ashley Rainey failed to reach double figures in any category, but still chipped in with nine points and a game-high nine rebounds. Sarah Gillis dished out six assists and Brimm added five assists as well.

Webber International had a big night from Yesenia Lora with 22 points and eight rebounds, but it was not enough to overcome Litzinger's hot shooting.

Lindsey Wilson needed that kind of boost as it shot just 33.9 percent from the field as a team. Luckily for it, the Warriors fared no better, shooting a 31.7 percent clip from the field.

The Blue Raiders controlled the glass 43-35 and hit 24 free throws, compared to just 12 for the Warriors, proving the difference in the game.

Lindsey Wilson returns home from its two-game road trip to Florida to play Miami-Hamilton at Noon CT on Dec. 29.
