LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team swept host Asbury (Ky.) University 9-0 today at the Bluegrass Tennis Club.

The win enabled the No. 13-ranked Blue Raiders to even their record at 3-3 on the season. Asbury falls to 3-4 on the season with the loss.

Today's match was the first for Lindsey Wilson against NAIA competition after playing its first five matches against NCAA programs.

Lindsey Wilson opened the match winning all three doubles points against the Eagles.

Lindsey Wilson's Victor Saez and Marlon Dal Pont cruised to an 8-3 win over Daniel Harris and Justin Westlund in the No. 3 doubles match while Fabricio Morales and Gilles Cornelis beat Kevin Mansur and Braun Applegate 8-4 in the No. 2 doubles to take a 2-0 lead.

The top-seeded doubles match went the distance with Lindsey Wilson's Fernando Bogajo and Pablo Vilches beating Nathan Schley and Scott Layton 9-8 (1) to claim the final doubles point.

Lindsey Wilson proved to be just as dominant in singles action taking all six available points.

Five of the six matches ended in straight sets with only the top-seeded singles match advancing to a superset tie-break.

In the match Bogajo won 12-10 in the superset to out-last Schley 6-7 (6), 6-0, 1-0 to clinch the 9-0 sweep.

In the remaining singles matches, the Blue Raider quintet dropped just 10 games en route to the win.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 25 as the Blue Raiders host University of Pikeville in a Mid-South Conference match at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
