St. Catharine regained the lead at 69-67 with 39 seconds left in the game when Kasei Evans scored on a put back. Evans finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds -- one of three Patriots to record a double-double.
Following a foul with 25 seconds remaining, Rainey swished a pair of free throws to tie the game for the 11th time and ultimately send the game into overtime. Rainey made 9-of-11 freebies to go along with her 10-of-17 shooting from the field.
St. Catharine had a pair of chances to win the game in regulation, but was unable to capitalize on its opportunities in the waning seconds.
In overtime, Evans once again pushed the Patriots into the lead with a basket 38 seconds into the extra frame. It would be the last St. Catharine points until Evans scored the team's final bucket of the day with 42 seconds left in the game.
While the Patriots struggled offensively in the overtime, four different Blue Raiders scored.
Freshman Monny Niamke tied the game for the 12th and final time with a fastbreak layup that knotted the game at 71-71. Following a St. Catharine miss and a foul, Rainey buried two more free throws to give the Blue Raiders the lead for good at 73-71.
Lindsey Wilson senior Ashley Franklin all but sealed the game with a driving layup with 1:19 left to give the Blue Raiders a 75-71 lead. Niamke and Brimm each added free throws inside the final minute to secure the win.
Neither team could boast about its offense today as Lindsey Wilson shot 37.1 percent (23-of-62) from the field while the Patriots ended the day making just 33.3 percent (27of-87).
St. Catharine's Janae Howard and Reilly Poirier joined Evans with double-doubles as the Patriots out-rebounded the Blue Raiders 65-46. Howard finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Poirier tallied 10 points and 14 rebounds.
