Box Score ATHENS, Tenn. -- The No. 12-ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's team won its fourth straight match with a 7-2 win today over host and No. 21-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan College.
The Blue Raiders (5-3) led throughout the match while winning a pair of doubles matches and five the six singles to record the 7-2 win.
Lindsey Wilson's Victor Saez and Marlon Dal Pont secured the first team point of the match with a convincing 8-1 win over Neal Baldwin and Nathan Storms in the No. 3 doubles. The Blue Raiders quickly doubled their lead as Fabricio Morales and Gilles Cornelis won 8-2 over Tanner Stancil and Rodney Pineros in the second-seeded doubles.
Tennessee Wesleyan (2-2) avoided the doubles sweep as Bartos Micher and David Escobosa beat the top LWC pair of Fernando Bogajo and Pablo Vilches 8-3.
Up 2-1 following doubles, the Blue Raiders continued to apply the pressure winning the next five singles matches to take the team win.
Bogajo won the top-seeded singles match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Stancil to push the Blue Raider lead to 3-1. Morales also dropped just three games in beating Micher 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2-seeded singles to give LWC the 4-1 lead.
Saez gained the match-clinching point with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles over Pineros.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 29 as the Blue Raiders host Georgetown College at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
