Swimming Competes Against Asbury, Centre

DANVILLE, Ky. -- In their final tune-up before next month's national championships, the Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's swimming teams traveled to Centre College for a double dual with Centre and Asbury University.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Corey Hall and freshman Connor Lyle each won events on the men's side while freshman Kate Spaulding recorded a pair of top-six finishes for the Blue Raider women.

Hall won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.18 seconds. He touched the wall .29 seconds ahead of Asbury's Daniel Bowman for the win. Lyle added a win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.29 seconds. He also earned a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.93.

The Blue Raider quartet of Hall, Lyle, Jonathan Hindman and Luke Royal earned a third place finish in the men's 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:42.27 -- just two seconds off the winning pace set by the Asbury foursome.

The Blue Raider men fell to the hosts 68-34 and to Asbury 74-20.

On the women's side, Spaulding finished in fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.78 and sixth in the 200-yard IM finishing at 2:27.97.

Freshman Sarah Wood added a fourth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:26.28.
