DANVILLE, Ky. -- In their final tune-up before next month's national championships, the Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's swimming teams traveled to Centre College for a double dual with Centre and Asbury University.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore Corey Hall and freshman Connor Lyle each won events on the men's side while freshman Kate Spaulding recorded a pair of top-six finishes for the Blue Raider women.
Hall won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.18 seconds. He touched the wall .29 seconds ahead of Asbury's Daniel Bowman for the win. Lyle added a win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.29 seconds. He also earned a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.93.
The Blue Raider quartet of Hall, Lyle, Jonathan Hindman and Luke Royal earned a third place finish in the men's 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:42.27 -- just two seconds off the winning pace set by the Asbury foursome.
The Blue Raider men fell to the hosts 68-34 and to Asbury 74-20.
On the women's side, Spaulding finished in fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.78 and sixth in the 200-yard IM finishing at 2:27.97.
Freshman Sarah Wood added a fourth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:26.28.
The LWC women dropped both matches on the night, falling to the Centre 88-6 and to Asbury 84-10.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the pool March 1-3 at the NAIA National Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla.
