Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The No. 12 Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team won its fifth straight match with a 9-0 shutout of Georgetown (Ky.) on Thursday at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders gained early control of the match after winning all three doubles matches.
Victor Saez and Marlon Dal Point won the first doubles match with a commanding 8-0 win over Ross Phelps and Zach Thomas at the No. 3 seed. Shortly after, Fernando Bogajo and Pablo Vilches finished the top seeded match against Benjamin Aspillaga and Chris Barlett 8-2.
At No. 2 doubles, Fabricio Morales and Gilles Cornelis added to the lead with a 8-1 win over Gustavo Echeverria and Ben Scott.
Lindsey Wilson (6-3, 2-0 MSC) continued to control the match in singles play with six straight-set wins against Georgetown (2-4, 0-1 MSC).
Bogajo had a strong start at the No. 1 seed, winning 7-5, 6-4 against Aspillaga. Bogajo found himself down 4-1 in each set before coming back to win both.
Morales clinched the win for the Blue Raiders with the fifth point at No. 2, beating Thomas 6-1, 6-1.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 3 at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Ind.
