COLUMBIA, Ky. – Neal Pawsat threw for 269 yards and four touchdowns to lead third-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) College over No. 24 Lindsey Wilson College 33-7 on Saturday night at Blue Raiders Stadium.

The Blue Raiders scored early in the third quarter to get within 10 points at 17-7 on an outside run by Shannan Coofer, but the Tigers hit the gas pedal to score the final 16 points in the game to secure the win.

Lindsey Wilson held the Tigers without a point on their first two drives before Pawsat ultimately put them on the board with 3:49 left in the first quarter.

The signal caller was sacked by Trey Benson to set up a third and 18 play where he found Rob Madon alone in the end zone for a 20-yard touchdown pass.

Third-down conversions hurt the Blue Raiders throughout the contest, allowing Georgetown to convert of 8-of-18 attempts.

Georgetown added a field goal in the second quarter to take a 10-0 lead and just before halftime Pawsat hit Madon again in the end zone from 13-yards out to make it 17-0 at the half.

Things couldn't have gone better for the Blue Raiders to start the second half.

A drive of nearly five minutes ended with Coofer taking a handoff and running alone to the left side of the field for an easy score.

Facing just a 10-point deficit, the Blue Raiders held Georgetown on its next drive, but the offense wasn't able to respond after that touchdown to start the half.

The Tigers finished off their next drive with Pawsat connecting with Madon on their third straight score through the air to take a 23-7 lead.

Looking for one last breath of life, Lindsey Wilson was energized as Branden Cresap connected with Coofer for a 47-yard pass that moved the ball to the Tigers' 30-yard line.

Facing a fourth and two from the 22-yard line, Cresap's pass was dropped by Chaz Barnes, allowing the Tigers to add a field goal on their next drive and make it a three-possession game at 26-7 with just under seven minutes to play.

Georgetown finished the scoring with Pawsat needing one play to connect with Randy Doss from 23-yards out. The Tigers set up the short field with a sack of Cresap on fourth down.

After setting school rushing records at Pikeville (Ky.) last week, the Lindsey Wilson backs were a focus for the Georgetown defense. Four different backs touched the ball for the Blue Raiders, but none were able to gain more than 25 yards.

Rome Cotton paced the group with 21 yards, including a long run of nine, while Tommy Smith also reached double figures with 10 yards on the ground.

The rushing attack wasn't much better for the Tigers, being led by Melvin Posey's 30 yards on six carries. But with Pawsat spraying the ball downfield, the offense still had some zip.

Madon was Pawsat's primary target, catching a game-high eight passes for 110 yards and three scores. Barnes paced Lindsey Wilson with four catches for 54 yards, while Ben Madon snagged three balls for 55 yards.

Cresap finished the game connecting on 15-of-31 passes for 207 yards and a pair of interceptions.

Georgetown tallied 402 yards on offense, compared to 210 for Lindsey Wilson.

The Blue Raiders turned the ball over three times (two interceptions, one fumble), while Georgetown finished with just one miscue.

On defense it was Randy Stites hearing his named called all night for the Blue Raiders, making a game-high 11 tackles, while Eric Shaw finished with nine stops. Georgetown's Patrick Dougherty and Winston Hines each finished with six tackles.

The Tigers racked up five sacks in the game, led by Dougherty with two.
