CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team improved 30 strokes in today's final round of the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament hosted at Campbellsville Country Club.
After struggling to a team-total 347 in Monday's opening round, the Blue Raiders posted a 317 today and moved up one spot to finish third in the two-day event. Lindsey Wilson ended with a tournament-total of 664.
Cumberland (Tenn.) captured the first leg of the chase for the MSC regular season title with a two-day total of 625 (314-311). Cumberlands (Ky.) finished in second at 656 (333-323).
Lindsey Wilson's Jennifer MacKinnon finished as the Blue Raiders top golfer at the event after finishing eighth in the 45-woman field. MacKinnon shot a 4-over par 76 today to end with a two-day score of 163 (87-76)
MacKinnon battled back from a disastrous start to tie for the second best round of the day. After opening with two bogeys and a double bogey in her first three holes, MacKinnon shot 1-under par over her final 15 holes en route to the 76.
Kelsey Joslyn joined MacKinnon in the top-10 with a tie for ninth.
Joslyn finished two strokes back of her teammate after firing a two-day total 165 (83-82). Candace Stacy ended with a 167 (85-82) and a 13th place finish.
Sara Kiozumi finished the day with four birdies and a 5-over par 77. She tied for 17th with a 170 (93-77). Courtney Swindle (35th) rounds out the Blue Raider team with a 193 (92-101).
Cumberland's Katie Legge captured medalist honors with a 5-over par 149 (76-73).
Lindsey Wilson returns to the links on Oct.1-2 as the Blue Raiders travel to the Berry College Invite in Rome, Ga.
