Men's Swimming beats Campbellsville 176-32 on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) University 176-32 in their opening meet of the season.

Lindsey Wilson men's 200 freestyle relay - Sam Tate, Luke Royal, Ryan Leamy and Iker Larzabal - earned a spot at the NAIA National Championships with a time of 1:35.82.

The Blue Raiders men swept the 1000 yard freestyle, the 200 freestyle, the 200 butterfly, the 200 backstroke, the 200 breaststroke, the 500 freestyle and the 200 individual medley.

Tolga Dogruyol won the 1000 yard freestyle in a time of 12:06.99.

Iker Larzabal and Ryan Leamy finished one, two in the 200 freestyle. Larzabal finished with a time of 1:50.07 and a invitation to nationals and Leamy had a time of 1:54.85. In the 500 freestyle, Leamy (5:14.75) and Dogruyol (5:50.90) finished first and second for Lindsey Wilson

Corey Hall won the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:05.17 while being invited into nationals. Travis Durocher finished in second with a time of 2:19.22 for the Blue Raiders.

In the 200 backstroke Larzabal finished with a time of 2:08.62, Durochers in a time of 2:26.17 and Hayden Pendergraft had a time of 2:27.44.

Shelby Stevenson won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:38.53. Joshua Garner finished in second with a time of 2:47.13 for Lindsey Wilson. They also went first and second in the 100 breaststroke.

Larzabal swam a 2:08.80 in the 200 individual medley, Hall came in with a time of 2:12.48 and Same Tate two-tenths of a second behind with a time of 2:12.65.

Tate (59.68) and Pendergraft (1:05.43) finished one and two in the 100 backstroke. In the 50 freestyle, Royal (23.42), Nicholas Coe (24.04) and Pendergraft (26.04) finished first, second and fifth respectively. Royal (51.57), Tate (52.04) and Coe (54.77) also finished one, two and three in the 100 freestyle.

Hall (55.72), Durocher (57.25) and Royal (58.05) finished in the top three in the 100 butterfly.

The Blue Raider men return to the pool on October 26 against Asbury University at Holloway Center Natatorium.
