COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson men's swimming defeated Rhodes (Tenn.) College 135-62 in the Holloway Center Natatorium this afternoon.
The Blue Raiders won nine events in the dual meet today - the 400 yard relay, the 1000 yard freestyle, 200 yard freestyle, the 400 individual medley, the 100 yard butterfly, the 100 yard backstroke, the 500 yard freestyle, the 100 yard breaststroke, and the 200 yard freestyle relay.
Iker Larzabal won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:51.53 and 500 freestyle in a time of 5:08.58. Larzabal also swam the first leg of the 400 yard medley relay that placed first with a time of 3:47.49.
Ryan Leamy took first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:48.76 as Tolga Dogruyol placed second in a time of 11:21.27. Leamy also placed second in the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:08.58. Dogruyol placed fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:12.23).
Sam Tate placed first in the 100 yard backstroke as he finished in a time of 1:00.65 while Hayden Pendergraft took third with a time of 1:01.81. Tate also finished in fourth place in the 400 individual medley in a time of 4:48.47. Tate swam the first leg of the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 23.54 which helped the Blue Raiders take first in the relay (1:32.78).
Travis Durocher swam a 57.22 in the 100 yard butterfly to take first as Joshua Garner (1:02.76) finished in fourth place. Durocher also placed fourth in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.29. Durocher also swam the final leg of the 400 yard medley relay.
Corey Hall finished the 400 individual medley in time of 4:34.57 while Jonathan Hindman placed second with a finishing time of 4:38.90.
Hayden Pendergraft took fifth in the 50 yard freestyle (25.51). Shelby Stevenson took third in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.93 and5:24.97 respectively.
Luke Royal placed second in the 50 yard freestyle (23.14) and the 100 yard freestyle (51.09). Royal also swam in the 200 yard freestyle time trial in a time of 2:19.21.
Lindsey Wilson travels to the Gainesville, Ga. for the Brenau Invitational starting on Friday, November 22. The invitational is a two day event.
