COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson men's swimming defeated Bethel (Tenn.) University 150-24 at the Holloway Center Natatorium.
The Blue Raiders have now won their first three meets of the season for the second straight year after going 3-0 to start the 2012-13 season. Lindsey Wilson men's 400 yard medley relay team made the "A" cut for Nationals during the meet.
Lindsey Wilson won all 11 events with Luke Royal and Ryan Leamy winning two events each. Royal won the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 22.94 and the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 51.35. Leamy won the 500 yard freestyle and the 1000 yard freestyle in times of 5:08.27 and 10:54.16 respectively. Royal and Leamy were both on the 400 yard freestyle relay that won in a time of 3:32.29.
Sam Tate won the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:12.77 and took second in the 500 yard freestyle (5:24.24). Tate was also on the 400 yard freestyle relay team and swam the first leg in a time of 25.56.
Travis Durocher, Iker Larzabal, Corey Hall and Jonathan Hindman all won events in the meet. Durocher won the 100 yard butterfly (56.60), Larzabal took first in the 100 yard backstroke (58.03) while Hall won the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:54.64. Hall was also second in the 100 yard backstroke (1:02.88). Hindman won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.63.
Tolga Dogruyol took second in the 200 yard IM (2:18.05) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:12.53). Dogruyol also swam on the 400 yard freestyle relay team.
Nicholas Coe placed second in the 50 yard freestyle (23.30) and the 100 yard freestyle (53.18).
The Blue Raiders next meet is at Campbellsville (Ky.) University against the Tigers and Union (Ky.) College on November 9 at 10 a.m. CT
