COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson women's swimming posted three second-place relay finishes at the Mid-South Conference Invitational on Saturday to finish in second place overall at the Holloway Center Natatorium on the Blue Raiders' campus.
The Blue Raiders finished with 448 points to take second in the five-team field, while Cumberlands (Ky.) won the team trophy with 933.5 points and Campbellsville (Ky.) finished third with 396.5.
The runner-up relay performances for Lindsey Wilson came in the 200-yard medley relay where Elena Nikolaeva, Kate Spaulding, Susan Harrington and Paige Lewis combined for a time of one minute and 59.58 seconds, the 800-freestyle relay with Sarah Wood, Lewis, Kelsey Marshall and Nikolaeva posting a time of 8:36l.27 and the 400-free relay with Nikolaeva, Stephanie Davis, Wood and Lewis touching in 3:56.83.
Nikolaeva found success of her own in the 400-free relay as her first-leg time of 27.16 seconds was good for an NAIA "A" standard national cut. Nikolaeva continued to impress in the 200-backstroke where she finished second with a showing of 2:17.50.
Harrington also medaled for the Blue Raiders in the 200-fly, finishing second after touching the wall in 2:25.96. Other medalists included Spaulding in the 200-breaststroke, finishing second as well with a time of 2:35.56.
The Blue Raiders won't compete again until a trip to the NAIA National Championships on Feb. 27 through March 2 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
