HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Sara Koizumi led wire-to-wire for her first career Lindsey Wilson meadalist honor and the No. 19-ranked Blue Raiders used a come-from-behind effort to win the Carey Collegiate Classic on Tuesday at the Canebreak Country Club.

Trailing by two strokes heading into today's second and final round, the Blue Raiders shot the low round of the day (317) to win by six strokes over host William Carey (Miss.).

Lindsey Wilson ended the tournament with a team total 631 (314-317) while William Carey posted a 637 (312-325). No. 22 Mobile (Ala.) finished third with a 649 (319-330).

Koizumi backed up her 2-over par 74 yesterday with a 3-over par 75 today to finish the tournament at 149. She beat William Carey's Summer Struzinski's 151 (76-75) by two strokes to claim the win.

Koizumi dominated the par 5s during the two days. She ended up as the only player to finish under par on the course's longest holes at 3-under. She tied with Struzinski with the best par-4 scoring at 7-over par.

For the tournament, Koizumi ended with a tournament-best seven birdies.

Kelsey Joslyn and Kaitlin Allan each tied for fifth after posting 159s over the two days. Each opened with a 78 on Monday and followed with 81s today. Joslyn finished with four birdies over the two days while Allan posted two birdies. Allan and Koizumi tied with a team-best 19 pars.

Jennifer MacKinnon posted the second best round of the day for the Blue Raiders with an 80. She concluded the tournament tied for 12th at 164 (84-80). Candace Stacy improved two strokes and one place on Tuesday to end the tournament with a 168 (85-83) and 14th place.

Up next for the Blue Raiders is the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament. Lindsey Wilson travels to Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Ky. on March 25-26 for the MSC Tournament.
