Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson women's basketball suffered a 75-45 loss to No. 7 Campbellsville (Ky.) University on Thursday night at Biggers Sports Center.
Lindsey Wilson (11-4, 1-2) was led by Tara Arnold and Kayla Richardson who both finished the game with 12 points. Jamie Cummings added 10 points and four rebounds. Chanel Roberts led the team with 10 rebounds.
The Blue Raiders jumped out to a 6-2 lead after Cummings made both free-throw shots with 16:00 left in the half. Lindsey Wilson would push the lead to five points at 11-6 after a Wisener field-goal with 12:34 left. Campbellsville would counter with a 7-2 run to tie the game at 13 apiece after a Daizah Kimberland make with 10:39 left in the half. The game was tied at 16 and the Tigers took its first lead at 21-20 with 8:00 left after Angie Lawerence hit a three-point shot.
Lindsey Wilson continued to hit shots, shooting 48 percent from the field to keep up with the Tigers and stay tied at 37 going into halftime.
The Blue Raiders started the second half cold, missing their first 10 shots as Campbellsville went on a 20-0 run to take a 52-32 lead. Lindsey Wilson would not recover from the sluggish start as they shot 15.4 percent in the second half.
Campbellsville closed the game on a 16-6 run to win 75-45. The loss is the Blue Raiders first at home this season.after starting 8-0 at Biggers Sports Center.
Lawrence finished the game with 19 points for Campbellsville while Lindsey Burd added a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Leann Grider finished with a team-high 10 assists.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the court to face St. Catharine (Ky.) on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center.
