Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team matched a season-high with 24 turnovers as they fell 94-62 at No. 8 Campbellsville Thursday night.
Lindsey Wilson falls to 14-8 on the season and 4-6 in Mid-South Conference play while Campbellsville improves to 19-2 overall and 9-1 in MSC play.
The loss is the fourth in a row for Lindsey Wilson, the highest losing streak this season.
Tara Arnold led the Blue Raiders with a career-high 19 points. Jamie Cummings led the team with eight rebounds and three blocks. Kayla Richardson added 12 points and Chanel Roberts chipped in with 11.
Campbellsville opened the game scoring the first five points, followed by Lindsey Wilson scoring the next five to tie the game 5-5. The teams would exchange baskets until the score was tied again at 12-12. The Tigers would use a 6-0 run to take an 18-12 lead, followed by an 8-0 run by the Blue Raiders to give Lindsey Wilson their first lead of the night at 20-18.
Campbellsville would retake the lead at 23-22 with 5:43 remaining in the first half. The Tigers would hold the lead for the remainder of the game. After a Campbellsville three pointer, Richardson answered with a three of her own to bring the score to within one at 26-25 with 5:00 to play. The Blue Raiders would go scoreless for over three minutes as Campbellsville closed out the half on a 14-3 run to take a 40-28 lead into halftime.
The Blue Raiders outshot the Tigers in the first half 48.0 percent to 34.1 percent, but Lindsey Wilson committed 14 turnovers compared to just five by Campbellsville. The Tigers grabbed 15 offensive rebounds while Lindsey Wilson collected just four. Campbellsville's Katie Allen erupted for 20 points in the first half, including going 5-of-6 from beyond the arc.
The Tigers opened the second half outscoring the Blue Raiders 21-13 to give Campbellsville a 20-point lead at 61-41. The Tigers would add a 19-4 run to take an 80-47 lead with 5:38 left to play. The teams would exchange baskets for the remainder of the game, giving Campbellsville a 94-62 victory.
Lindsey Wilson finished the game shooting 41.8 percent from the field compared to 43.2 percent by Campbellsville. The Tigers hit 12-of-24 shots from beyond the arc, compared to 5-of-21 by the Blue Raiders. Campbellsville committed just seven turnovers compared to Lindsey Wilson's 24.
Campbellsville's Allen finished with 23 points to lead the team followed by Angie Lawrence with 18 and Daizah Kimberland with 16.
The Blue Raiders return to action when they travel to St. Catharine (Ky.) College Saturday for a 1 p.m. CT tipoff.
