LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men and women's cross country teams competed in the Greater Louisville Classic's Silver Race today at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
The Blue Raider men finished 24th overall in the 42-team race while the Lindsey Wilson women ended in 31st in the 46-team event.
John-Paul Williamson led the Blue Raider men finishing 17th out of 350 harriers. Williamson finished the 8,000 meters in 26 minutes and 22 seconds.
Garry Korir added an 88th place finish with a time of 27:37 as the Blue Raiders posted 233 team points.
Adrian (Mich.) won the men's team event with 120 team points while William Carey's (Miss.) Geoffrey Kipchumba won the men's race in 24:56.
Maria Cozzens led the Blue Raider women with a time of 19:59 over the 5,000-meter course. Cozzens' time was good enough for 57th in the 404-woman race.
Ally Davis crossed the finish line in 20:54 to post a 151st place finish.
The Blue Raiders scored 737 team points. Lipscomb (Tenn.) won the team title with 54 points while Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne's Brittany Beard broke the tape at 17:35 for the win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action next week in multiple events. A portion of the Blue Raiders travel to the NAIA Preview in Lawrence, Kansas, while the remainder of the team competes at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fast Cats Invitational in Owensboro, Ky.
