LAWRENCE, Kan. -- John-Paul Williamson finished in 80th place out of 320 runners at the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships at Rim Rock Farm on Saturday.
Competing in his third-career national championship event, Williamson finished the race with a time of 26:17.00 at the eight-kilometer event. He recorded an average mile time of 5:17.3 on the day.
Benard Keter of Wayland Baptist (Texas) won the event with a time of 24:36.40, turning in an average mile split of 4:57.0.
Oklahoma City claimed their second-straight NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship, finishing with a team time of 2:05:51.80 and accumulating just 55 total team points in the 36-team event.
Second-place finisher Southern Oregon completed the race at 2:07:35. 20 while totaling 113 total team points.
