COLUMBIA, Ky. – No. 6 Lindsey Wilson men's tennis defeated Asbury (Ky.) University 9-0 at the Tennis Courts in Wilmore, Ky.

Lindsey Wilson (8-1, 3-0 MSC) swept the doubles matches as the No. 2 doubles team of Fabricio Morales and Francisco Charters defeated Deuce Gibson and Kevin Mansur 8-1 to secure the first point of the day. Lindsey Wilson's No. 3 doubles team of Pablo Vilches and Edberg Espinoza defeated Daniel Harris and Justin Westlund 8-2 to make it 2-0 in favor of Lindsey Wilson.

The No.1 doubles team for the Blue Raiders – Ignacio Huertas and Raul Mendez – defeated Scott Layton and Nesbert Vaval 8-5 to give Lindsey Wilson a 3-0 lead after the three doubles matches.

In the singles competition, Lindsey Wilson swept the six matches in two sets each. Lindsey Wilson's Morales won the No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-0 over Stephen Woods to give the Blue Raiders a 4-0 lead. Charters, at No. 4 singles, defeated Nick Streibick 6-0, 6-0 for the fifth point of the day for the Blue Raiders.

Lindsey Wilson's Huertas, playing at No. 5 singles, beat Harris 6-1, 6-0 while Vilches beat Gibson 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles to give Lindsey Wilson a 7-0 lead.

Espinoza secured the eighth point of the day for Lindsey Wilson as he defeated Vaval 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Mendez, playing No. 1 singles, defeated Layton 6-2, 6-4 for the ninth point and secured the sweep over the Eagles.

Lindsey Wilson is back on the court Wednesday, April 2 at 2 p.m. as they host University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
