MARION, Ind. – Kaitlin Allan, Candace Stacy and Courtney Swindle finished 1-2-3 as the No. 20 Lindsey Wilson women's golf team shot a final round score of 320 to take first-place at the Indiana Wesleyan University Spring Invitational at Arbor Trace Golf Club by 19 strokes on Saturday.
Lindsey Wilson was able to handle the strong wind conditions during the final round to finish with a team score of 629 (309-320) and secure its second first-place finish of the spring. Marian (Ind.) University shot a 326 in the final round to finish the Invitational in second place with a score of 648 (322-326). Aquinas (Mich.) College placed third with a score of 672 (326-346).
Allan shot a final round 6-over par 79 to finish with a 4-over par 150 (71-79), four strokes in front of her teammate Stacy. It is Allan's first win this season after placing second at the Reinhardt Spring Invitational and the Blue Raider Classic earlier this spring. Allan shot four strokes better than her season average.
Stacy shot the best round of the day, a 2-over par 75 as she cut four strokes off her round one score to place second with an 8-over par 154 (79-75). For Stacy, this is the first time this season she shot in the 70's in both rounds of a tournament.
Swindle shot a 6-over par 79 in the final round to finish in third place with a score of 10-over par 156 (77-79). This is Swindle's first top five finish and her third top-10 finish of the year.
Amy Brown tied for 14th place as she shot a final round 14-over par 87 to finish at 23-over par 169.
Kayla Cordeiro finished the day 26-over par 172 (84-88) to finish in 21st place.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the course on Sunday, April 20 for the Mid-South Conference Tournament in Bardstown, Ky.
