Women's Golf takes Second Place at Blue Raider Classic

JAMESTOWN, Ky. – No. 21 Lindsey Wilson women's golf finished in second place at the Blue Raider Classic at Lake Cumberland Golf Course on Tuesday.

The Blue Raider Classic served as the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament and University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) took first place with a final score of 674.

Lindsey Wilson finished the second round with the best score of the day, 337, to finish the tournament with a score of 677 (340-337), three shots off tournament winner University of the Cumberlands (Ky.). Cumberlands shot a 339 in round two, but shot a 335 on Monday to finish with a score of 674. University of Pikeville (Ky.) finished in third place with a score of 721.

The Blue Raiders shot 19-over par on the par 3 holes with a stroke average of 3.53. Lindsey Wilson averaged 4.92 strokes on the par 4 holes and led the tournament on the par 5 holes with a 5.56 stroke average. The Blue Raiders finished the tournament with six birdies and 62 pars.

Lindsey Wilson was led by Kaitlin Allan who shot a 9-over par 81 in round two to finish the tournament in second place, seven strokes behind Bri-Anne Tokariwski of Cumberlands. Tokariwski won the individual tournament with a two round total of 157 after shooting a 5-over par 77 in her final round. Allan finished her two rounds at 13-over par on the par 4 holes while Tokariwski was 11-over par on those holes. Allan finished the tournament with three birdies, second most in the tournament. Tokariwski was tied for the tournament lead with four birdies.

Candace Stacy shot 12-over par 84 in her final round to finish the tournament tied for fifth place with a final score of 24-over par 168 (84-84). Stacy finished the tournament with a 4.70 stroke average on the par 4 holes, third best in the tournament. Stacy finished her two rounds with 14 pars.

Lindsey Wilson's Amy Brown shot five strokes better in round two as she finished her round with a 12-over par 84. Brown finished the tournament in ninth place with a score of 173 (89-84) with 12 pars. Courtney Swindle shot a 16-over par 88 in round two to finish at 37-over par 181 and in 14th place. Swindle had 12 pars and was 3-over par on the par 3 holes with a 3.38 stroke average.

Katie Bowling shot a round one 12-over par 84 but had to withdraw in the final round of the tournament.

Lindsey Wilson is back on the course April 11 as they travel to Marion, Ind., for the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational.
