No. 20 Women's Golf takes Second Place at the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championships

BARDSTOWN, Ky. 20th-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's golf finished in second place at the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championships at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood on Wednesday.

Lindsey Wilson shot a 28-over par 316 in the final round to finish the tournament at 87-over par 951 (317-318-316). The Blue Raiders were 29 strokes behind MSC Tournament Champions University of the Cumberlands (Ky.). Cumberlands shot a 58-over par 922 (304-319-299) to finish in first place. Campbellsville (Ky.) University shot a 100-over par 964 (311-326-327) for third place.

The Blue Raiders now have to wait and see if they receive an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championships at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb., that begins on May 20.

Kaitlin Allan finished in third place following her 14-over par 230. Allan finished her final round with two birdies and nine pars as she shot a 6-over par 78. Allan was two-strokes off Cassidy Scantland of Campbellsville who finished first at 12-over par 228. Bri Tokariwski of Cumberlands finished in second place with a final score of 13-over par 229.

Lindsey Wilson's Candace Stacy shot a final round 5-over par 77 to finish in a tie for fourth place. Stacy had her best round of the tournament on Wednesday as she compiled five birdies. She finished the tournament at 17-over par 233 (78-78-77).

Amy Brown climbed six spots on the leaderboard during the final round after shooting a 7-over par 79. It was Brown's best round of the tournament as she finished with two birdies.

Courtney Swindle shot a 10-over par 82 to finish at 29-over par 245 (79-84-82). Swindle started the round with a birdie and ended it with a birdie but struggled on the back nine as she was 7-over on her round heading into the front nine. Swindle finished tied for 14th place.

Kayla Cordeiro moved up one spot to 24th place after a 15-over par 87 in the final round. Cordeiro finished the tournament at 42-over par 258.

After the final round, the All Mid-South Conference teams were announced. Allan earned First Team All-Conference while Stacy earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

All-conference honors are selected based on a golfers best five rounds out of the seven rounds played during the MSC fall tournament, spring tournament and championship tournament.
