LONDON, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson women's golf shaved 12 shots off yesterday's team total but remained in third place at the conclusion of the Bill Sergent Invitational hosted by Cumberlands (Ky.) at Crooked Creek Golf Club.
Lindsey Wilson fired a team-total of 318 today to cap the tournament with a two-day total of 648 (330-318). Host Cumberlands captured the tournament title with a 617 (314-303).
Lindsey Wilson's Cristina Jimenez led the Blue Raiders for a second straight round as she carded a 3-over par 76 today. Jimenez ended the tournament tied for fourth following a two-day total 155 (79-76) on the par-73, 5,878-yard Crooked Creek course.
Flore de Faveri and Kayla Cordeiro each bettered their score from the opening round to move up the leaderboard and into a tie for 16th. Faveri carded an 81 today -- three shots better than her 84 on Thursday -- while Cordeiro improved by five shots today with an 80.
The pair was joined by teammate Courtney Swindle (82-83) with 165s.
Shayna Cockrill also made an improvement today with a final-round 81 to finish 19th with a 166 (85-81).
Amy Brown and Megan Kriz -- competing as individuals -- finished 23rd and 31st respectively in the 50-woman field. Brown shot a 170 (85-85) while Kriz posted a 175 (86-89).
Cumberlands' Bri-Ann Tokariwski earned medalist honors with a 151 (78-73).
The Blue Raiders return to action on Sept. 12-13 as Lindsey Wilson hosts the Blue Raider Classic at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
