Women's Swimming beats Campbellsville, Bethel to close regular season

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College women's swimming closed out the 2014-15 regular season today in grand style with dual wins over host Campbellsville (Ky.) and Bethel (Tenn.) at the Powell Athletic Center.

The No. 9-ranked Blue Raider women finish their dual season with a 10-4 record -- including winning five straight wins -- following today's 118-70 win over Campbellsville and a 133-27 win over Bethel.

Lindsey Wilson captured six of the nine individual races and both relays during the event.

Courtney Fleeger, Kelsey Marshall and Elena Nikolaeva each won a pair of races.

Fleeger raced away from the competition capturing the 400-meter freestyle and 1,500 free in convincing fashion. She posted a time of five minutes and nine seconds in the 400 free to win by nearly a minute. Fleeger added a 30-second win in the 1,500 free with a time of 19:44.62.

Marshall picked up wins in the 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley. She out-touched Campbellsville's Emily Hunter at the wall to win the 100 breaststroke by less than a second with a time of 1:28.35. In the 200 IM, Marshall coasted to a seven-second win with a time of 2:54.79.

Nikolaeva posted a three-second win in the 100 backstroke touching the wall in 1:14.24. She added a 28-second win in the 200 free with a time of 2:24.45.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Feb. 6-7 at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Williamsburg, Ky.
