Williamson leads Men's Cross Country to second-place finish at St. Louis Fall Classic

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lindsey Wilson men's cross country finished second overall at the St. Louis Fall Classic, as John-Paul Williamson led the Blue Raiders with a third-place overall finish and he was the second overall collegiate finisher.

Eleven of the 12 Lindsey Wilson harriers set new personal records in the race, while 11 runners also finished under the 30-minute mark.

Williamson grabbed another top-three finish as he completed the race in a time of 25 minutes and 13 seconds.

Austin Childress was the second finisher for the Blue Raiders as he finished the race in 13th-place, out of 110 competitors, with a time of 26 minutes and 38 seconds. Zack Carr and Clay Priddy were neck-in-neck with one another as they finished in 31st and 32nd overall, respectively. Carr finished the race in 27 minutes and 44 seconds, while Priddy posted a time of 27 minutes and 45 seconds.

Eddie Weaver was the final Blue Raider to finish in the top-50 as he completed the race in 28 minutes and 38 seconds, which slotted him in 50th overall.

As a team, the Blue Raiders finished in second overall out of 12 teams with a score of 122, while Campbellsville (Ky.) was able to win the event with a score of 48. Geoffrey Kipchumba of William Carey (Miss.) was the top individual finisher with a time of 23 minutes and 55 seconds.

Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Nov. 7 at the Mid-South Conference Championship at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green, Ky.
