Men's and Women's Swimming grab wins over Urbana on Saturday

URBANA, Ohio – The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's swim teams swam their way to a pair of dual wins on Saturday as they took down NCAA Division II member Urbana (Ohio).

The Blue Raider won men by a final score of 123-60, while the women's team won 124-64 over the Blue Knights. Lindsey Wilson's men's team is now 1-1 in dual meets this season and the women's team is 2-0.

Wins were plentiful on the day as the Blue Raiders finished in first place in 17 of the 22 events. Lindsey Wilson opened the dual by winning the first six events in a row, three each by the men and women.

On the men's side, Clemens Patzold and Iker Larzabal both finished with perfect three-for-three days as they took first place in all three events they competed in. Patzold won the 200-yard individual medley, 200-yard backstroke and was a part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team. Larzabal won the 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and was a member on the 200-yard freestyle relay team.

Jonas Muller, Jose Prado de Lima, Ryan Leamy and Zachary Patzer all added a pair of wins, while Mark Richard grabbed one event win on the day.

For the women's team, both Laura Stephenson and Emily Wood won all three events they competed in. Stephenson grabbed her wins in the 200 medley relay, 200 free and the 200-yard butterfly, while Wood won the 1,000-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and the 200 free relay event.

Elena Nikolaeva, Caitlin Freeny and Dana Kaftan each posted two wins and Bailey Seitz and Courtney Fleeger each had one.

Up next for the Blue Raiders is the first home dual meet of the season as they host Asbury (Ky.) on Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. CT.
