Men's Swimming wins fifth-straight dual meet with 153-16 victory over Life

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team defeated Life (Ga.) on Saturday afternoon at the Holloway Center Natatorium by a score of 153-16, as the Blue Raiders extended their dual winning-streak to five straight.

Clemens Patzold led Lindsey Wilson with three wins in all three events he appeared in on Saturday. He also hit national qualifying standards in each event. Patzold started the afternoon anchoring the 200-yard medley relay with teammates Jose Prado de Lima, Zachary Patzer and Jonas Muller. The team posted a time of 1:46.97, which won the event and was just under the national 'A' standard.

In the 200-yard freestyle, he won the event with the time of 1:47.33, which was over 20 seconds faster than teammate Shelby Stevenson, who finished second with a time of 2:09.59. In Patzold's final event of the afternoon, he posted his lone 'B' qualifying standard of the day in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:49.16.

The final qualifying standard the Blue Raiders hit at the meet was in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Iker Larzabal, Ryan Leamy, Gage Setzer and Prado de Lima teamed up to post an 'A' standard time of 1:34.96.

Alexander Van Winkle, Travis Durocher, Prado de Lima, Muller and Setzer all recorded first-place finishes for Lindsey Wilson at the meet.

Van Winkle won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:09.54, and Durocher captured the 200-yard individual medley posting a time of 2:16.98. With a time of 55.33, Prado de Lima was able to win the 100-yard butterfly event over teammates Turk Dogruyol and Dakota Hope.

In his lone individual event of the afternoon, Muller won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.95. Setzer rounded out the first-place finishers for Lindsey Wilson on the day as he finished the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.81.

Lindsey Wilson heads to Gainesville, Ga., next weekend to compete at the Brenau (Ga.) Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
