COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Several national cuts and a plethora of wins highlighted Lindsey Wilson Swimming's match with visiting Asbury (Ky.) tonight at Holloway Center Natatorium.
The Lindsey Wilson men captured a 133-69 win over the Eagles, while the Blue Raider women came up just short in a 106-97 loss.
The Blue Raider men recorded four times good enough for national A cuts and five B cuts during the night. Six Blue Raiders touched the wall first in nine individual events in the meet.
Jose Prado de Lima captured the 100-yard butterfly and 1,000-yard freestyle, Iker Larzabal picked up wins in the 100 and 200 free and Clemons Patzold won the 400-yard IM and 100 backstroke.
Patzold's 52.83 seconds 100 back set a new program mark. His time shaved nearly a full second off the previous top mark. Patzold posted two A national cuts with his finishes in the 100 back and 400 IM
Zac Patzer, Ryan Leamy and Jonas Muller also picked up wins tonight. Muller's time of 59.90 seconds is the third individual A cut of the evening for the men.
Lindsey Wilson improves to 2-1 on the season in duals.
Laura Stephenson and Emily Wood each won twice for the Blue Raider women.
Stephenson set national A cuts during her wins in the 200 free and 100 fly. Wood added an A cut in the 500 free. She also captured the 1,000 free.
Lena Nikolaeva joined Stephenson and Wood in the win column. She beat the field in the 100 back.
As a team, the Blue Raider women concluded the night with four A national cuts -- including an A cut in the 400-yard medley relay -- and four B cuts.
Lindsey Wilson is right back in the pool on Saturday as the Blue Raiders host Campbellsville (Ky.) and Union (Ky.) in a tri-meet at Noon CT at the Holloway Center Natatorium.
