Mercer's 6-1, 7-5 win over Charters in the fourth-seeded match secured the fourth and decisive point for the Eagles.
Morehead State went on to win the final two matches played to claim the 6-0 win.
"We had a lot of opportunities today, but we were just unable to capitalize on them," Lindsey Wilson tennis coach Daniel Finn said. "You have to give Morehead State all the credit; they won the big points when it mattered."
