Box Score WALESKA, Ga. -- For a second straight match, No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis blanked its opponent, defeating host Reinhardt (Ga.) 9-0 today at the Boring Sports Complex.
Lindsey Wilson breezed through doubles play winning all three matches while dropping just five games.
No. 6-ranked Edberg Espinoza and Francisco Charters along with Raul Mendez and Denis Porcic each won their doubles matches 8-2. Ignacio Huertas and Pablo Vilches won their match in one fewer game, winning 8-1 to give the Blue Raiders the 3-0 lead heading to singles.
Porcic -- ranked No. 26 in the NAIA singles -- posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Nicolas Duarte at the second-seeded singles match to claim the Blue Raiders' fourth point of the day. Mendez scored the decisive point with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Emory Deloach in the third-seeded match.
The remaining matches ended in straight sets with the exception of the top-seeded match.
Espinoza battled back after dropping the opening set against Maksim Yorsh to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 to ensure the Lindsey Wilson sweep.
With the win, Lindsey Wilson extends its winning streak to five straight matches.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 19, as the Blue Raiders travel to Memphis, Tennessee to take on Delta State (Miss.).
