Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis closed out its home season today with a 9-0 sweep over Bethel (Tenn.) at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
Lindsey Wilson dropped just 10 games in the match en route to winning its 14th-straight match of the season.
The Blue Raiders (16-2) seized complete control of the team match from the very beginning, dropping just two games in the three doubles matches.
The doubles pairs of Edberg Espinoza and Francisco Charters -- in the top match -- and Denis Porcic and Raul Mendez -- in the second-seeded match -- each won by scores of 8-1. Ignacio Huertas and Pablo Vilches captured their match 8-0 for the 3-0 team lead.
While each Blue Raider earned straight-sets wins in the six singles matches, Colin Sparks produced the most memorable match. Sparks claimed his first collegiate win with a 6-0, 6-4 result over Matt Wassman in the sixth-seeded match.
With the win, Lindsey Wilson closes out its home season with a perfect 5-0 record at Baughman.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at Noon CT on Saturday, April 11 as the Blue Raiders travel to Cumberlands (Ky.) in the Mid-South Conference finale in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
