Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The top-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team topped fourth-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.), 5-1, in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals on Friday morning at Kereiakes Park.
The Blue Raiders improve to 18-2 overall, while the Patriots fall to 6-11. With its victory, Lindsey Wilson has now won 16-consecutive matches to set a new program record.
The Blue Raiders claimed two-of-three doubles matches, and won singles matches at No. 2, 3 and 4.
In the second doubles flight, Raul Mendez and Denis Porcic won by an 8-0 margin. The top doubles match saw Francisco Charters and Edberg Espinoza team up and win, 8-4.
Later on in singles competition, Porcic topped his opponent, 6-2, 6-1, in the second-seeded match. At the No. 3 slot, Mendez won, 6-1, 6-3. To round the action, Ignacio Huertas was victorious, 6-1, 6-3, in the fourth singles match.
Lindsey Wilson faces second-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) at 3 p.m. CT in the MSC Tournament title match.
