LONDON, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team concluded the final round of the Bill Sergent Invitational with a team score of 323 to finish in fourth place at the Crooked Creek Golf Club on Friday.
The Blue Raiders finished with a two-day total 636 (313-323) in their first tournament of the 2015 fall season.
Host Cumberlands (Ky.) took home the tournament victory with a two-day 601 (301-300). Cumberland (Tenn.) finished second at 619 (308-311) and Campbellsville (Ky.) finished third ahead of the Blue Raiders at 622 (314-308).
Cristina Jimenez, competing as an individual, took second place at the event finishing with a two-day total 149 (73-76). She completed her two-round score with a 3-over par performance at the par-73, 5,894 yard course.
For the five-person Lindsey Wilson team, Brianne Coe finished tied for 10th place with a 155 (76-79), just one stroke ahead of teammate Courtney Vincent who shot a 156 (78-78) in a tie for 13th. The freshman duo was the lone players to shoot sub-80 rounds on both days for Lindsey Wilson.
Shayna Cockrill was unable to replicate her 4-over par 77 in the opening round, finishing day two with an 84 for a total of 161. Kayla Cordeiro concluded her tournament with a 164 (82-82) in a tie for 21st place while Megan Kriz finished tied for 26th with a 172 (88-84).
Amy Brown, also playing as an individual, also finished tied for 26th with a 172 (87-85).
Cumberlands' Kaitlyn Riley took home the tournament victory with a 3-under par 143 (69-74) for the tournament, beating out Jimenez by six strokes.
The Blue Raiders return to the links on Sept. 28 for the Reinhardt Invitational in Waleska, Georgia.
