Women's Cross Country finishes fourth, Men's team takes sixth at Berea Invitational

BEREA, Ky. — The Lindsey Wilson men's cross country team finished in sixth place with the women's cross country team coming in fourth place on Saturday at the Berea College Cross Country Invitational.

The Blue Raider men were led on the five mile course by John-Paul Williamson, who raced his way to a third place finish with a time of 26:19.6. The second and third Blue Raiders across the line were Zach Carr, who finished in 25th with a time of 29:38, and Clay Priddy, who came in 34th with a time of 30:23.7. Cody Hymer came in 47th in 31:07.6, Lindsey Wilson's top five was rounded out by Ben Hoffman, who crossed the line in 51st place with a time of 31:28.5.

The men's team was second amongst four Mid-South Conference teams with 133 points. Cumberland (Tenn.) finished in fifth with 117 points, Georgetown (Ky.) finished in seventh with 171 points, and Pikeville finished in 11th with 286 points.

Host Berea won the men's team competition with 39 points, while the top individual finisher was Victory Pataky, who ran 26:10.7 for Centre (Ky.).

The women's cross country team was led to a fourth place team finish by Nikki Coffey, who crossed the line in fourth place with a time of 19:25.8. Only four spots behind was teammate Maria Cozzens, who finished in 20:38 to come in 8th. Allyson Davis finished just outside the top 20 with a time of 21:24.4, which was good for 21st. The Blue Raider top five was filled out by Breana Conway, who finished 40th with a time of 22:29.9, and Mia Cornette, completed the race in 46th place with a time of 22:53.5.

The Blue Raiders were the top MSC team in the women's 5k race with a score of 108. Cumberland recorded 150 points to finish fifth, Georgetown earned 186 points to finish seventh, and Pikeville came in eighth with a score of 218.

Tennessee Wesleyan was the top team in the women's race with a score of 23, and the top individual finisher was Robbiccaa Williams for the Bulldogs in a time of 18:57.6.

The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's cross country teams next take the course on Sept. 26 at the MSC Conference Preview in Bowling Green, Ky.
