NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson men's cross country team started their 2015 season at the Belmont (Tenn.) Open with a fourth-place finish for the non-NCAA DI schools. The race was broken down between four non-NCAA DI programs and seven NCAA DI programs.
John-Paul Williamson led the Blue Raiders with a time of 15:40.8 in the 5K race. Williamson finished in ninth place overall and was the top finisher for all non-NCAA DI runners. Endalow Takele of Western Kentucky was the top finisher in the race as he ran a time of 15:15.5.
Middle Tennessee State was the top NCAA DI team as they had a team score of 40 points, while the top non-NCAA DI team was the Nashville Harriers with a score of 30.
Austin Childress was the second finisher for the Blue Raiders as he completed the race in 16:52.3, a new personal best. Childress finished in 55th place overall and 14th among non-NCAA DI racers.
Lindsey Wilson had two other runners finish in the top-25 of non-NCAA DI runners as Clay Priddy finished in the 20th with a time of 17:36.6 and Zack Carr finished in 18:09.1, which slotted him in 25th.
Trevor Wright was just outside the top-25 with a 26th place finish after finishing with a time of 18:26.6.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action on Sept. 19 at the Berea Invitational at 9 a.m. CT in Berea, Ky.
