Women's Swimming topped by Cumberlands 144-60

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team suffered a 144-60 dual setback to Cumberlands (Ky.) on Saturday at the Holloway Center Natatorium.

The Blue Raiders collected three wins on the day, all coming from individual events.

Emily Wood won the first individual race of the day as she captured the victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11 minutes and 25.72 seconds. She topped the next closest competitor by over six seconds.

Jessica Macdonald followed with a win in the 200-yard freestyle. Her time of 2:00.23 won the event by .23 seconds. Macdonald would follow up with a win in the 100-yard freestyle. She touched in the wall in 55.49 seconds, edging out Cumberlands' Brittany Litke by just under half of a second.

Lindsey Wilson swimmers added a number of top-three finishes on the day, including third-place performances from Kylie Gehefer, Wood, Bailey Seitz, two from Ines Khiyara and a third from the 200-yard freestyle relay team.

The Blue Raiders return to the pool on Oct. 15 for a dual meet with West Virginia Tech.
