Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team scored 26 unanswered points in the second half in its 53-17 defeat of Union (Ky.) on Homecoming Saturday night at Blue Raider Stadium.
With the victory, the Blue Raiders (6-0) matched their best start in a season. Lindsey Wilson also won their first six games in 2015 and ended the season with an 8-3 record and reached the NAIA Football Championship Series Playoffs.
The Blue Raiders broke the program record for rushing yards gained with a 410-yard effort against the Bulldogs (3-2). Jalen Sublett led all Lindsey Wilson rushers with school-record 194 yards on 16 attempts.
Behind its prolific rushing attack, Lindsey Wilson's offense churned out 657 yards of total offense -- a new program record. The previous mark of 610 yards was set against Pikeville (Ky.) in 2012.
Sublett also set the Blue Raider record for longest run with an 80-yard touchdown scamper at the close of the third quarter. The score was one of three rushing touchdowns for the senior, which ties a school record.
Blake Ingleton tacked on 148 yards and two touchdowns -- the second time that the Blue Raiders produced a pair of 100-yard rushers in the same game.
Lindsey Wilson led 27-17 at halftime on the strength of two Ingleton rushing touchdowns and a scoring throw by Dylan Beasley.
The Blue Raiders scored once in the third quarter before exploding for 21 points in the game's final 15 minutes.
Defensively, Lindsey Wilson blanked Union in the second half, yielding 185 total yards in the final 30 minutes.
Trent Mueller led all Blue Raider defenders with nine total tackles, including 1-1/2 for a loss. Lindsey Wilson recorded three sacks on the night and intercepted the ball a season-high four times.
Beasley completed 20 of his 35 attempts for 247 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Lindsey Wilson begins a two-week road swing beginning with next Saturday's contest against Cumberlands (Ky.). Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
