Box Score NEW Albany, Ind. – The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team defeated Indiana Southeast 90-69 Saturday at the IU Southeast Activities Center.
The Blue Raiders (10-0) had five players in double figures led by J'Nayah Hall and Teanna Curry who had 14 points apiece. Malerie Martin scored a season-high 13 points and Billie Hearn chipped in with a season-high 12 points. Chanel Roberts scored 11 points.
Lindsey Wilson shot 45.7 percent in the game and held the Grenadiers (7-3) to just 34.3 percent from the field and 4-of-20 from three. The Blue Raiders outscored Indiana Southeast 58-30 in points in the paint.
Lindsey Wilson ended the first quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 21-15 lead. Lindsey Wilson held a 43-34 lead going into halftime. The Blue Raiders shot 42.2 percent from the field in the first half and held the Grenadiers to a 36.1 shooting percentage and just 2-of-12 from three.
Lindsey Wilson went on a 6-0 run to take a 59-46 lead halfway through the third quarter. Indiana Southeast answered with a 6-0 run of their own to cut the Blue Raider lead to 59-52 at the end of the third quarter. The Blue Raiders went on scoring runs of 8-0 and 6-0 in the fourth quarter to increase their lead to 21.
Annie Thomas led Indiana Southeast in scoring with 14 points.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Tuesday in Thomasville, Georgia to take on Thomas (Ga.) at the TU Gymnasium at 5 p.m. CT.
