Women's Basketball cruises to 100-57 win at Thomas

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball connected on 62.3 percent of its shots en route to a 100-57 win over host Thomas (Ga.) tonight at Thomas Gymnasium.

The Blue Raiders (11-0) made 43-of-69 shots in a game where they never trailed. Thomas falls to 4-6 on the season with the setback.

Kayla Styles led five Blue Raiders in double figures. Styles scored a game-high 17 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the field. Teanna Curry nearly joined Styles with a perfect shooting night. She scored 16 after making six of her seven shots and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.

Heidi Huffman scored 13 points while Malerie Martin chipped in 11 off the Lindsey Wilson bench. Chanel Roberts added 11 points in the win.

Lindsey Wilson used big runs in the second and third quarters to run away from the Night Hawks.

The Blue Raiders led 23-17 at the end of the first quarter. Lindsey Wilson separated from Thomas with a 20-6 run over the final six minutes of the second quarter to take a 52-32 lead at the break.

Lindsey Wilson extended its lead to has many as 45 points in the fourth quarter for its 11th straight win to start the season – the second-best start to a season in the program's history. The 1990-91 Blue Raiders opened the season winning their first 13 games.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Dec. 17, as the Blue Raiders travel to Warner (Fla.) in Lake Wales, Florida.
