Men's Tennis falls to Keiser in top-25 match

Box Score

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. -- No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis dropped a 5-4 decision to No. 11-ranked Keiser (Fla.) today at the Bluegrass Racquet Club.

The match -- scheduled to be played at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex -- was moved indoors due to the high winds.

Keiser (3-1) seized the early momentum, taking two of the three doubles points for a 2-1 lead.

Alonso Tellez and Ignacio Huertas grabbed on the lone Lindsey Wilson (1-2) point in the doubles -- defeating Ignacio Osse and Martin Martins 8-4 in the third-seeded match.

Denis Porcic pulled the Blue Raiders even in the match with the first win in singles play. Porcic captured the top-seeded singles match with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Nicolas Guerschanik to knot the overall match at 2-2.

The Blue Raiders took their first and only lead of the day following Raul Mendez's 6-3, 6-2 win in the second-seeded match.

Keiser captured the next two points with wins at three and four singles for a 4-3 lead.

Tellez tied the match at 4-4 with his second win of the day. Tellez posted his first singles win of the season with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Osse.

Keiser scored the decisive point on a Lindsey Wilson default to give the Seahawks the 5-4 upset win.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at Noon CT on Tuesday, Feb. 23 as the Blue Raiders travel to Morehead State (Ky.) in Morehead, Ky.
